Summary: “Can you really afford me, my pretty German?”
Length: 1391 words
Date: Completed September 8, 2007
Author's Note: This was spawned from my history homework which, amidst talking about Germans and Italians and trade, decided to mention that, “There was a flourishing homosexual subculture devoted to cross-dressing, young men lounging in gondolas on the canals wearing nothing but women's jewels.” (It’s called
Fear of Touching by Richard Sennett, though the rest of the article is sadly devoid of anything else like this.) This takes place in the mid-1300s.
